Carlisle Bay- St Mary's Parish, Antigua
Her lips suck forth my soul: see, where it flies!
Come, Helen, come, give me my soul again.
Here will I dwell, for heaven is in these lips,
And all is dross that is not Helena.
Wonderfully laid-back Carlisle Bay sits on the south shore of Antigua. Once a coconut plantation, this idyllic resort is now home to fifty-five spacious suites. Upon entering your suite, you'll notice the bedroom and its king-sized bed off to your left. The hallway then opens up into a glorious living room with the kitchen tucked in the rear corner of the space. Light spills in from the terrace which is furnished with table and chairs perfect for private and romantic alfresco dining.
Carlisle Bay's beach is famous for its beauty and safety. Its white sand contrasts against the sparkling blue Caribbean. The sand barely descends under the water and the result is a swimming area perfect for wading, swimming, or snorkeling. Immensely popular with the English, Carlisle Bay is also the site of frequent croquet tournaments. At night, you'll often find festive barbecues here complete with steel drum bands.
