Ripplecove Inn- Ayers Cliff, Canada

Therefore the Love which us doth bind
But Fate so enviously debars,
Is the conjunction of the mind,
And opposition of the stars.

Set upon a peninsula overlooking Lake Massawippi in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, the Ripplecove Inn stands as one of Canada's romantic gems. Opened in 1945, Ripplecove built its reputation on the adjacent excellent fishing, but as fishing began to decline, Ripple-cove shifted its focus to luxury and became an upscale resort known for fine dining and sumptuous lodging.
All of Ripplecove's rooms exude a romantic ambiance. While all feature designer fabrics, it's best to request a room with a balcony, fireplace, and whirlpool bath. On a cool fall evening, you'll return to your room to find that the thoughtful staff has already begun a fire for your comfort; a luxury that is itself worth the cost of a stay at Ripplecove.
Lake Massawippi still offers excellent fishing though you may not be able to match the catches that are displayed in pictures throughout the hotel. Even if you don't fish, grab a canoe from the inn's beach and enjoy the beauty of this long lake. Equally beautiful, but more dramatic, is the Coaticook Gorge. Just a short drive away, the 165-foot deep gorge spans the Coaticook River and is traversible by the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge.
Combined with its striking lakeside setting and Victorian ambiance, Ripplecove's dining room serves gourmet cuisine with romantic flair. French cuisine dominates the menu while candles provide the lighting for a divine experience.
