Here's a place where your heart can return to its old dwelling place or perhaps find a new one. Trapper's Cabin is a secluded log cabin 9,500 feet above sea level overlooking Beaver Creek. Combining impeccable service and mountain tranquility, the 3,000-square-foot cabin gives you the best of both worlds. Enjoy elegant comfort in the most private setting imaginable.
When you arrive at Beaver Creak, your baggage is taken ahead of you, delivered by snowmobile (or Jeep, depending upon the season), and placed in your room before you even get up the mountain. At the site, there is a cabin keeper who serves as host, bartender, and cleaner-upper to make sure that your needs are met and you are made as comfortable as possible.
Meanwhile a chef prepares your gourmet meal. You'll start out with appetizers with a Western flair, like grilled smoked wild meats and trout, or buffalo salami. Dinner might be such Rocky Mountain favorites as sautéed elk steaks in bourbon and wild mushroom sauce or salmon in dill butter. Dinner is served family-style with fine wine followed by coffee. The chef cleans up and then prepares a heap of midnight snacks before he and the cabin keeper depart, leaving the two of you alone for the evening.
The cabin features three bedrooms, and is decorated in rustic charm, with lots of exposed beams. The dining room is hickory wood, and the living area is equipped with a player piano, a stone fireplace, a well-stocked library, and board games. A Jacuzzi hot tub on the deck soothes muscles wearied by strenuous days of downhill and cross-country skiing.
Breakfast will be brought to you by the chef and cabin keeper. Then you can plan the day's activities. In the winter, you can ski right from your doorstep (lift tickets are complimentary). In the summer, go horseback riding or hiking. Or you can do anything you like, including nothing at all.
The cabin is reserved for one couple or group at a time.
