Amberly Castle- near Arundel, England
Unlace yourself, for that harmonious chime,
Tells me from you, that now it is bedtime.
Your gown going off, such beauteous state reveals,
As when from flowery meads th' hill's shadow steals.
Now off with those shoes, and then safely tread
In this love's hallow'd temple, this soft bed.
Licence my roving hands, and let them go,
Before, behind, between, above, below.
To enter in these bonds, is to be free;
Then where my hand is set, my seal shall be.
Enclosed by a sixty-foot wall with outlooks and massive fortified gateways is the enchanting Amberly Castle. These features make Amberly unique, but are not the only special assets of this magical abode.
Amberly's fifteen bedrooms are wondrous in their own right. Individually decorated, they feature whirlpool baths and either four-poster or brass beds. Despite being over 900 years old, the castle's public rooms are warm and cozy even with the presence of armor and pikestaffs.
Dinner is taken in the Queens Room restaurant which features a beautiful mural of Catherine of Braganza. Chef Sam Mahoney creates inspired dishes based on carefully researched old English recipes.
