Besides the Hotel San Pietro, Positano also hosts the charming deluxe hotel Le Sirenuse. As with every building in Positano, Le Sirenuse is perched on a cliff, and it overlooks the sea and the islands of the Sirens.
Le Sirenuse opened in 1951 and gradually expanded to its present size. Before it became a hotel, it had served the noble Neapolitan family, Marchese Sersale, as a summer house. Today, the family still owns the hotel and has taken great care to preserve its grand past, thus rewarding its guests with the romantic elegance of a bygone era.
Painted a rosy red, the original house at Le Sirenuse serves as the hotel's nucleus. Here you'll find the Presidential Suite, the drawing rooms, and the bar. Surrounding it are a number of new buildings equally charming. Their rooms range from the gloriously spacious to intimately small. Most have balconies overlooking the sea in addition to jacuzzi tubs, while all are dotted with antiquities to remind you that you are the guest of Italian nobles.
