Hotel Bela Vista- Macau, Macau

Shall I see her again today, then?
There's one hour to the train.
That's all.
But that one hour's held by the apathy of sea, of rumbling

Getting a room at the Hotel Bela Vista is not easy. Recently restored in 1992, this century-old mansion features only eight suites behind its elegant facade. Located at the top of a grand staircase, these eight rooms rank among the most prized and most romantic in Southeast Asia. Each luxurious suite blends Oriental touches with Portuguese charm, and each features dramatic views of the city and Praia Grande Bay.
The restaurant at the Bela Vista hotel is a true gem of the Far East. Hidden away from the city bustle, this Portuguese-style mansion overlooking the Praia Grande has all the ingredients for a very romantic evening:
colonial setting, a breathtaking column-and-arch veranda, linen tablecloths, ceiling fans, chandeliers, and potted plants. The windows of the restaurant are doorways to the veranda and let in a nice subtle breeze.
If you're in this part of the world soon, you must experience the Bela Vista before it closes its doors. Sadly, the Bela Vista will become the Portuguese consulate after Macau reverts to China in December 1999.
