If you glanced at a map of Minnesota, Annandale might not seem to be the place to visit for a romantic repast. But then again, most maps don't mention the Thayer Inn. Built at the turn of the century, the inn was later gracefully restored, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Inside, Thayer features eleven rooms, a dining room, and the Depot Lounge. The rooms are all individually decorated with period antiques. Many feature beds hand-made by local artisans. At the Depot Lounge, you'll find everything from fine cognacs and scotches to the latest microbrews, all of which you can enjoy over a game like checkers or cribbage.
