Honeymoon Vacations

Triple Creek- Darby, Montana

The night has a thousand eyes,
And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies
With the dying sun.
The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is done.

This romantic mountain hideaway in the Big Sky State combines rugged beauty and plush elegance. Adjacent to millions of acres of scenic Rocky Mountain wilderness near the Idaho border, you can't get much more secluded than Triple Creek. But seclusion doesn't mean you have to skimp on creature comforts. There's one staff member for every guest, so you are assured personalized and efficient service. And this resort has all the amenities you could wish for. Plus it's couples only, so you're ensured the quiet and privacy you seek during a romantic escape.
Triple Creek is located at the foot of Trapper Peak just outside Darby, a small town a little more than an hour south of Missoula. The ranch features eighteen cabins, and three of these accommodate two couples. These cabins all have spectacular views of the creek and nearby mountains. Each cabin has a fireplace, fully stocked refrigerator, and wet bar. The large cabin suites feature separate living rooms, huge baths, and private hot tubs (a perfect place to tickle the rib of love) on the scenic decks.
The main lodge has a cozy bar with a wood-burning fireplace and an excellent dining room, which serves complimentary wine with its gourmet cuisine. The dining room's executive chef, Martha McGinnis, has been featured in Southern Living, The Hideaway Reports, and Bon Appetit. After dinner, you can groove to live music in the bar or sip a post-meal drink in the hot tub.
Sporting activities are wide and varied. You can swim in the outdoor pool or play tennis. Flyfish in the stream that runs through the resort, or watch the herd of buffalo that's kept by the Triple Creek Ranch. Nearby is the Bitterroot River, made famous by the book and movie, A River Runs Through It. Further along is the equally famous Salmon River, great for rafting trips down the dramatic rapids. Horseback riding is also conveniently available. Or you can explore the many hiking trails. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and sleigh rides. Downhill ski areas are only a half hour away.
Like most of the region, Triple Creek is laid-back and unpretentious, a perfect romantic getaway for those who want to enjoy the wild country in comfort and pleasure.
