Honeymoon Vacations

The Fearrington House- Pittsboro, North Carolina

O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.

On the outskirts of Pittsboro lies Fearrington Village, a residential community transformed from a 200-year-old dairy farm. Its creators R.B. and Jenny Fitch studied restaurants and inns throughout Europe before they began their project, and the result is a community that seems more at place in the English countryside than Dixie. At the heart of this bucolic community lies the Fearrington House and its restaurant.
The inn's rooms and suites encircle a central courtyard highlighted by its charming garden and center fountain. The rooms are individually decorated with English pine, antiques, and floral print fabrics. They over-look the pasture where Belted Galloway cows and sheep now graze. Luxury bathrooms complete with towel warmers are another standard at Fearrington House.
The Fearrington family's farmhouse, built in 1927, serves as the restaurant. With much of its initial charm preserved, the restaurant is a collection of small intimate dining rooms and two glass-enclosed porches. Antiques and original art fill the candle-lit rooms and create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic meal.
At both the inn and the restaurant, you'll come to appreciate Fearrington House's service. Never obtrusive, but always attentive, the staff ensures that your stay here will be pleasant. It is because of them that Fearrington House is a member of Relais & Châteaux and a AAA Five Diamond property.
