Glendorn offers couples the opportunity for an exclusive escape on a vast amount of private land. The estate, which is tucked away on almost 1,300 acres of fenced-in land in northwestern Pennsylvania, provides guests with the ultimate playground for fun and romance. The privacy of this retreat is virtually guaranteed by the Allegheny National Forest which surrounds Glendorn on three sides. Built in 1929 for the locally prominent Dorn family who used the resort as a "summer camp," Glendorn opened its doors to the public in 1995. Rooms and suites are offered in the magnificent redwood lodge which serves as the centerpiece for the property. Additional guest quarters are available in rustic and elegant cottages that mostly offer one to four bedrooms. All guest accommodations have private baths, telephones, and robes. Fresh fruit, cookies, and candies are placed in the rooms each day. You can have a continental breakfast delivered to your room, suite, or cabin each morning, or you can opt for the full country breakfast at the Big House or terrace depending upon the weather. You can also arrange for a lovely romantic picnic.
The 1,300 acres of private land provide a limitless variety of activities including hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, fishing in the lake or streams, canoeing, tennis, trap and skeet, billiards, bridge card games, swimming in the sixty-foot heated outdoor pool, or a workout at the gym. There's even golf nearby. Wind down your fun-filled day relaxing by a two-story fireplace.
