Palau Pacific Resort- Palau, Republic of Palau

Somewhere or other there must surely be
The face not seen, the voice not heard,
The heart that not yet-never yet-ah me!
Made answer to my word.

Once a territory of the United States, the Republic of Palau hugs the border of Asia and is comprised of 350 islands of which only nine are populated. Those who used to watch Jacques Cousteau have probably seen the islands as they were one of the scientist's favorite dive sites. Indeed, Palau has long been known as one of the world's top dive destinations.
In addition to diving, guests can now enjoy first-class accommodations at the Palau Pacific Resort. A favorite with the likes of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Daryl Hannah, the resort covers sixty-four acres and houses 160 rooms and suites. Be sure to request one of the ocean-front rooms; they enjoy spectacular views of the sea and there's nearby coral reefs beneath the ocean surface.
Surprisingly the resort offers much more than diving. On the grounds, you'll find tennis, hiking trails, a fitness center, and a driving range. Of course, diving is the main attraction and non-divers can even attend Splash, the resort's dive school. Or you can even forgo the scuba gear and enjoy the beauty of the reefs by snorkeling. In these reefs, there are 1,500 species of fish, 700 varieties of coral, and giant clams. For a more relaxing activity, you can lounge around the pool, or savor delicious meals of seafood and Pacific Rim cuisine at the resort's restaurant.
