On a hilltop just outside of Seville sits the ancient Hacienda Benazuza. Built in the 10th century by the counts of Benazuza (members of a noble Moorish family), the hotel has hosted nobility throughout its history. In fact, until recently, only nobility were invited to stay in its luxurious rooms.
Hacienda Benazuza's architecture reflects its Moorish past. Moorish arches are found throughout as are wide corridors preferred by the Moors. These long tiled corridors are carpeted in Berber rugs which absorb the sounds of foot traffic. True to its Spanish heritage, the hotel has its own chapel and the grounds are actually an olive grove. You'll enjoy these tasty olives at Alqueria, the hotel's restaurant, where marinated olives and freshly baked bread begin the meals.
Each of the hotel's forty-four rooms is unique. You'll find such historical treasures as 500-year-old closet doors and paintings by Spanish aristocrats. Thankfully though the bathrooms are tiled and equipped with all the modern luxuries you would expect.
