Cibolo Creek Ranch- Marfa, Texas
Forth, Love, and find this made,
Wherever she be hidden:
Speak, Love, be not afraid,
But plead as thou art bidden;
And say, that he who taught thee
His yearning want and pain,
Too dearly, dearly bought thee
To part with thee in vain.
This restored working Longhorn ranch is situated on 25,000 acres in Big Bend country. The ranch was built around remains of pre-Civil War adobe forts and provides guests with eleven elegant adobe-insulated guest rooms. Most of the rooms have luxury touches such as fireplaces and down comforters. Each room is decorated in a motif that reflects the period for which it was named, such as Cowboy, Colonial South, and Texas.
Request the Master Suite if you're looking to make a Texas-sized impression. The suite comes complete with a private dining room, Jacuzzi, huge bathroom, and walk-in closet, and it opens out onto a glass-walled veranda that looks upon a private fishing lake and a nearby swimming pool.
Recreational activities include horseback riding, fishing, and swimming. Wind down your day with a giant gourmet spread enjoyed with a soothing margarita. You can even sit around the campfire at night gazing up at the big starry sky.
