Honeymoon Vacations

Stein Eriksen Lodge- Park City, Utah

See! The mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea: -
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?

Utah ski resorts don't get the attention that their glitzy cousins in Colorado receive, and for many that's part of their charm. Sure, there's not as lively a night scene in predominantly Mormon Utah, but that doesn't mean you can't make your own excitement.
The Stein Eriksen Lodge is one of the premier ski lodges in Utah. Forty-five minutes from Salt Lake City, the lodge is nestled in the alpine splendor of the Deer Valley Resort at Park City. The Lodge is on the mountainside, and most of the rooms have a view of the mountain (make sure to ask for one of these rooms). About half the rooms have fireplaces. The suites also have spacious decks. The rooms are decorated in Scandinavian color and theme. Bathrooms are equipped with oversized whirlpools. And the lobby has a huge stone fireplace, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Candlelight and fresh flowers are a regular feature in the Glitretind Gourmet room, where the menu is superb. The restaurant has an excellent wine selection.
Other amenities include a heated, year-round outdoor swimming pool, and a health spa with exercise room, sauna, hot tub, and massage rooms. There's also a ski locker room, and ski rental and repair shop for your equipment needs. You can buy a lift ticket right at the Lodge and ski out to Deer Valley's Sterling lift. And the outdoor walkways are heated so you don't get chilled coming in or going out.
Celebrities eager to enjoy mountain solitude have taken advantage of the Stein Eriksen's impeccable hospitality. Folks like Dustin Hoffman, Ann-Margret, Sidney Poitier, Bruce Springsteen, and Gerald Ford have stayed here, and although it's made its reputation as a ski resort, don't dismiss Stein Eriksen when planning a summer vacation. The summer days in the mountains are warm and dry, with virtually no humidity. Nights are cool enough for a sweater, and provide a sky full of stars. Summer events in the area include rodeos, concerts, and sports competitions.
