Honeymoon Vacations

The Greenbrier- White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia

How long such suspension may linger? Ah, Sweet,
The moment eternal-just that and no more -
When ecstasy's utmost we clutch at the core,
While cheeks burn, arms open, eyes shut, and lips meet!

The Greenbrier is one of the most famous resorts in the country, and deservedly so. A favorite getaway for the Washington power elite, this spectacular retreat is a sprawling establishment set on 6,500 acres in the gorgeous Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia.
In operation for more than 200 years, the Greenbrier has a long-standing tradition of outstanding hospitality. Many of the staff can claim two or even three generations of service at the resort. And some of the chefs are home-grown as well, graduates of the famous Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship Program.
The Greenbrier offers a wide range of sporting activities. You can jog, hike, or ride horseback over the miles of woodland mountain trails. There are three eighteen-hole golf courses and twenty tennis courts. Fishing, as well as trap and skeet shooting, are also available. A full-service spa and mineral bath service help revitalize your aching muscles and leave the pressures of life behind you.
But the Greenbrier is not a spa, and the food and beverage service is both generous and exquisite. Tea is served in the afternoon, accompanied by live chamber music. Cocktails in the White Club are a must, followed by dinner in the elegant Main Dining Room where the tables are decorated with fresh flowers and lighted candles. A string ensemble plays romantic music during your meal. Later, return to the White Club for more music and dancing. In the morning, don't worry about being awakened early. Before 9 a.m., the staff actually whispers so as not to disturb their guests.
The Greenbrier offers a wide variety of rooms and suites... in the hotel, as well as in the guest houses that have up to four bedrooms. All the hotel rooms have beautiful views of the gardens and grounds, but only the guest houses have fireplaces. These houses also offer privacy and comfort. Their wide porches with awnings and wicker furniture are the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon cocktail and they overlook some of the most beautiful areas of the resort. The houses have full room-service, so you don't have to ever venture from beyond the front porch, if you don't want to. But if you do, they are located conveniently close to all the resort's many sport and leisure activities.
The Greenbrier offers special honeymoon and anniversary packages. They include: accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily in the Main Dining Room with the options of dinner at Sam Snead's at the Golf Club (seasonal), happy hour hors d'oeuvres in the Old White Club, evening first-run movies, dancing, swimming, a historical presentation or interior tour, complimentary champagne, flowers, and a color photograph to cherish the memories.
